1950s stained glass cake

I love a good kitsch pudding! It’s always nice to be able to surprise and delight your guests/kids/family and this retro dessert definitely fits the bill. It was especially good because we ate it outside on a warm sunny day and the sunlight glinted beautifully though the jelly making it look just like the stained glass! This cake recipe was listed on the back of jello packets in the fifties and was usually called either broken glass cake or stained glass cake.
